Fall

I think it is safe to say that this is my favorite time of year! The leaves are turning, the air is fresh, snow is coming, holidays are around the corner, and a cup of something warm is always a good idea! I'm especially excited to spend time with family this year. I love the yummy food that comes with the cold weather and the laughter of fun times!
We managed to put up some applesauce this fall to go with our peaches and pears. I'm very excited to be learning all these things:) Pam has the cooooooooooolest applesauce grinder/maker/separator/thingy that you ever did see!!! It made the process quite a bit easier and even saved some time.

Sugar Beets

Sugar Beet harvest is in full swing here in Idaho. The days are busy and long. Kenyon is digging not too far from the house so Korbin has gotten to ride with him a few times. Then it is straight to playing harvest when he gets home! I don't claim to know a lot about all this farming, but I'm trying to learn.
Before the beets can be dug, they have to chop off the leaves and scalp the top of the beets. Then the digger can come and take them out of the dirt and up through the machine and out a boom to load a truck. They have a few semi's and quite a few 10 wheelers. The semi's tend to get stuck a lot easier because of the weight of the load. It hasn't been too wet so that has helped. The days are getting shorter and colder. We have had good weather here, so that is nice. Beet harvest will go into the beginning of November. For now we have long working days, lots of trucks on the road, dust lingering where truck traffic is heavy, and mud. The next vehicle we purchase will not be black.............:)
Weston is on the move. He is not crawling yet, but army crawls/scoots very well. It keeps us on our toes. Trying to keep the floor cleaner as crumbs, dead flies, ect. go strait into his mouth!! I don't have any pictures of the beet dump yet and hope to get some very soon~

OCTOBER

SO........It's been a while! This last summer has been quite busy:) We moved to Idaho in June and have been going ever since. We moved the second week in June. We got to our new "home" on a Tuesday and left Friday to catch a few days of Parma Convention. We got to see Ryan and Malia and quite a few others. We left from there to get "the last load" from Nevada. Came home on Tuesday, had a few days and were off again. We went to a couple of weddings the next few weekends. Kenyon's cousin Chyla got married in Park City, Utah over the weekend of July 4th and we spent our holiday there. It was beautiful. We got to see tons of family and some great fireworks.

Kenyon started in on farming right away. It has been fun watching and learning about how the farm operates. He has very long days as it is time to harvest. Grain came first and now the potatoes are close to being finished. Next.....sugar beets. The boys and I have made a few trips since. The first to California and Nevada. We spent some time with Ben, Tam, and Dawnita. Then to Nevada to take care of a few things and spend some time with our friends. We came home for a few weeks and then up to Seattle to see baby Kalia. Shane and Suzanne had their little girl. We spent most of our time hanging out with Ryan and Malia and of course little Kamea! We had a blast....then had to come home.
Got home and started to can. Peaches, pears, jam, corn, and soon apples! We have kept Great Grandm
a Clarice and my cousin Shauna very busy. Life here on the farm has taken some time getting used to, but don't feel sorry for us.....we love it!!! Here a few pics of our journey. Hope this gets you up to speed and I hope to keep this more updated:)Isaac loving Weston

April!! Don't look now....here comes May!!

So, it's been a while since our last post. We have been busy with life. Same as you? Funny how that works:) Weston is 3.5 months now and doing well. We just got out the exersaucer and bumbo to add to the clutter. We are pretty sure he will have brown eyes as they get a little more so everyday. Mom was here this last week so that was really fun to have her!
Check out the ears on him!! They seem to stick out a little:) He is very smiley and these ears might add a little personality! Scary face!

So, I asked Korbin to pick up his toys in his room. "Mom, I'm done!" Sure enough. They were all in one basket. "It's too heavy for me to lift. Can you put it on the shelf for me?"

Korbin has reeeeaaalllly long eyelashes, so we were wondering if Weston was going to have long ones too. When he was born he had none. This is what we've grown so far.

Teaching Weston about the important things in life.

Weston is now 2 months old and according to Korbin he has already turned 5! Guess we got out of having his 5th bday party:) Everyday is filled with getting nothing done and wondering where time went. I look at the clock often wondering how it has gotten so late and when is he going to eat again? It is so fun having 2 little guys around. I wish I could quit worrying about all the "stuff I need to get done" and stare at Weston and do crafts and play outside with Korbin. They grow up so fast. Korbin is doing really well at preschool, his teacher has talked to me twice now about how he's improving. I was worried about how it would be after the baby came. Glad it's been positive for the most part! Went to the gymnastics gym with Korbin last Saturday and got to play on all the stuff with him. Fun! Not quite ready to do anything crazy but was good to be a little bit active for a change! All for now, we'll keep you posted ;)

Last Few Weeks

We have been busy the last few weekends!
Grama Pam and Grampa Kalvin came to visit for Presidents Day weekend. We had tons of fun and of course not enough time! We got to spend Valentines together and went to dinner. We asked Korbin where he thought we should go because we couldn't decide.
"McDonalds!" he says.
Of course, how fun:) Didn't end up there but he thought it was the perfect place for dinner.

We are loving our little family these days. It is pretty awesome to have two little buddies!
Weston has been smiling now so that is fun. He is growing fast. We looked at Korbin's 3month pictures and it is crazy how much they look alike!!
Korbin is full of energy and new ideas. He is quite the little bargainer and tries to get a little more no matter what we are dealing with!
